Karen's Quilt

Just popped outside for a few minutes to check where the moon was.  The eclipse covers it by about half.  I plan on going out again at 9:26pm when it's supposed to be full and try to take a few pictures.  The pictures probably won't turn out that great but it's worth a try.

Lunar update:  No pictures.  I couldn't even find it with my camera.  But the view was pretty awesome.  The surface of the moon was reddish/pinkish and Saturn and Regulus were shining very brightly on either side of it.  That's the last one until 2010 so I hope you got a look.

Saturn...that was the planet I couldn't think of. I, too, tried to get pictures. I could find the moon, although the more I zoomed in, the harder it was--also, it was harder to focus the more zoom I used, but I guess that's a given. The moon gave off a LOT of light, despite the eclipse, and I'm not good enough to control for that, so even though I captured it, the light of the moon eclipses the eclipse.

We parked the minivan on the hill in Queeny Park, rolled down one of the side windows, and let the kids climb over us and each other from 7:30 until the eclipse was total (no complete). Magnus stared at the moon the whole time. I couldn't get any decent pictures either.
