The shoes (ordered from a different website when the first site had them on backorder forever) have arrived! They are not quite as Mary Janeish as I had envisioned, but enough to keep. I'll post pictures later.

Hey, Gregg, thanks for reading! I've always assumed only family paid any attention to this blog. And, maybe, friends of family. I don't know about "excellent" but I strive for exceptable. :)

I'll have to look for her. They had meetings posted with the leaders' names. Unfortunately, I don't get off work in time to make any of the week day meetings.

My favorite leader recently transferred from Creve Coeur to Chesterfield, which is one of the main reasons I haven't been to a meeting in so long. Her name is Millie, and she's very fun.

Did you think about joining a gym or are you going to keep working out on the treadmill? Reading your post I decided I should probably start counting points to. Ive noticed I have been eating to much junk. If you want to start doing the weekly emails again let me know. :)

They went electronic about a year ago, and from what I understand, the only info you need is your membership card with the bar code. (They scan the bar code at whatever meeting you attend.) I *think* you can switch locations. It would be crazy to not have everyone on the network.

Personally, I'm more successful when I'm actually attending the meetings. Sadly, I haven't been to a meeting in a few months. AND, I really like the Core Plan. (No counting points, but you pretty much have to stick with their list of high fiber/low fat foods. Let me know if you want more info on Core!)

We parked the minivan on the hill in Queeny Park, rolled down one of the side windows, and let the kids climb over us and each other from 7:30 until the eclipse was total (no complete). Magnus stared at the moon the whole time. I couldn't get any decent pictures either.

Saturn...that was the planet I couldn't think of. I, too, tried to get pictures. I could find the moon, although the more I zoomed in, the harder it was--also, it was harder to focus the more zoom I used, but I guess that's a given. The moon gave off a LOT of light, despite the eclipse, and I'm not good enough to control for that, so even though I captured it, the light of the moon eclipses the eclipse.

Karen's Quilt

I spend an exorbitant amount of money on shoes. And the sad fact is that I don't have a huge spread of shoes in my closet. Two pairs of work/dress shoes, my Nikes, and my Birks. It's not that I buy a lot of shoes, but that I spend a lot of money on each pair. A week ago tomorrow, I bought two new pairs of shoes for work. I'm excited about their eminent arrival! They're a bit more girly than my last shoes...okay so here and here, they are. My reasoning for buying these shoes are more to show off my socks than anything. OMG, I'm going to be known at work for my socks...even more so than my friend, Judy, who wears holiday appropriate socks (and I make fun of!). But, since, they are handmade, I can live with that. Here's my first pair of wearable socks that I made. The lighting's not great but you get the idea.
