It's time to face one of my most obvious procrastinations. My weight. I did a good job in 2006, I need to buck up and continue that. Anyway, in 2006 I lost the weight through portion control and exercise. I've continued that plan and have only maintained. So, hello!, that won't get me lower than I am now. I hate the word "diet" so I'll go to the next best thing: Weight Watchers. Not a diet, a plan. And, really it is...a way of eating, not harsh restrictions. I've looked for meetings online and only found one that I could attend on a week night, considering I don't get off work until 6pm. I also have the choice of about four Saturday morning programs to attend.
So, my question is, for those of you who have more recent WW experience than I, are they past the paper stage at WW? Do they maintain a database that allows me to move from one meeting to another without the undo stress of transferring my paper records? Even when I attended all meetings at Ellisville, it was a hassle to attend Wednesday instead of Tuesday. Has that changed at all? If I actually join, what if I don't like the meeting leader? That happens. I've had meeting leaders I'd follow anywhere and others who I'd never go back to listen to. What does one do?
Most likely, I see myself doing it on my own. After all, I have all the materials, even though a few years old. Has anything changed drastically in the last couple years? The website talks about a "Core Plan" that they didn't have when I paid, but I don't think I'd do that anyway. Quite frankly, after a year or so of meetings, they sort of, kind of, repeated themselves. Yes, being accountable to the scale was good, but I can do that in my own bathroom. But, still, if WW's technology has progressed to this decade, I could see myself trying out meetings again, finding one that suited me, and actually helping me lose weight.
Any insights will be appreciated!

at 2/25/2008 9:46:01 PM- Did you think about joining a gym or are you going to keep working out on the treadmill? Reading your post I decided I should probably start counting points to. Ive noticed I have been eating to much junk. If you want to start doing the weekly emails again let me know. :)

They went electronic about a year ago, and from what I understand, the only info you need is your membership card with the bar code. (They scan the bar code at whatever meeting you attend.) I *think* you can switch locations. It would be crazy to not have everyone on the network.
Personally, I'm more successful when I'm actually attending the meetings. Sadly, I haven't been to a meeting in a few months. AND, I really like the Core Plan. (No counting points, but you pretty much have to stick with their list of high fiber/low fat foods. Let me know if you want more info on Core!)
